Teamfight Tactics: Reckoning 2021

TFT Team Fight Tactics Support – Chaos Pengu towers over a group of Little Legends Tacticians who are in various states of despair.

Order. Chaos. Two sides of the coin that is the world. Forever these forces have existed in constant balance...until now. The Black Mist has found a foothold in the Convergence, and corruption threatens to reign supreme. You can't let that happen, now can ya? Of course not! So grab your champions, and pledge allegiance to the forces of good or the legions of evil. TFT: Reckoning has arrived. (Psst. Wanna learn more? Don't miss out on the Reckoning Gameplay Overview).

Reckoning is bringing the ruination on April 28th, 2021 at 11:00 AM (PT), and will be causing chaos through July 19th, 2021 at 11:59 PM (PT). The start of a new set means the beginning of a new season, which means all the Little Legends, arena skins, and Reckoning Pass shenanigans you've been yearning for. Steel yourself! It's time to delve deeper into TFT: Reckoning.

Reckoning Pass

New set? New Pass! Even if the world is on the precipice of destruction, some things never change. We don't wanna dive too deep into the Reckoning Pass here, so be sure to check out the TFT: Reckoning Pass FAQ. Spoilers, but who knew chaotic Little Legends could be so...cute!

Mechanics

Shadow Items

The Rabadon’s Deathcap shadow item icon with a green border.

And you thought certain items were scary before! Reckoning introduces a new mechanic this time around: Shadow Items. "But what are they?!" you may ask in fear. Well, when you see that spooky green border around your favorite component items, that's your cue that this could be the building block for a Shadow Item. But these are just the components, and for all intents and purposes, function the same way as the usual Sparring Gloves, B.F. Swords, and other component items you know and love.

It is when you combine these shadowy components that things change. Combined Shadow Items are formed when one or both components are bordered by that ominous green we were talking about. This new completed Shadow Item will be different than the standard version.

For example, we all know that Force of Nature increases the holder’s team size by 1. The shadow version, Force of Darkness, adds TWO to the holder’s team size! But with greater power comes a price: your Little Legend will take double damage whenever you lose a round! Mastery of these corrupted items is critical, so use them wisely.

Origins and Classes

Origins and classes represent both the order and chaos present in Reckoning. You'll notice some familiar favorites, but get ready to contend with a whole host of new faces.

Origins

Origin Bonuses
Abomination

When 3 allied Champions have died, the Monstrosity will awaken from its grave. The Monstrosity gets bonus Health and Attack Damage based on allied Abomination units' Star Levels.

The Monstrosity will also receive a random copy of an item from each of the three Abomination Champions nearest the grave when combat starts.

Coven

At the start of combat, the Champion nearest to the center of your Coven Champions is chosen as the Coven Leader, gaining 50% bonus Ability Power.

Each time a Coven Champion casts, 25% of the cost is bestowed upon the Coven Leader as mana.

Dawnbringer

Dawnbringers rapidly heal some of their maximum Health the first time they drop below 50%. When this heal occurs, all allied Dawnbringers gain 10% bonus damage

Draconic

At the end of each player combat, gain a dragon egg on your bench. The bigger the egg, the longer it takes to hatch, and the rarer the reward.

In Hyper Roll, dragon eggs hatch a lot faster!

Dragonslayer Dragonslayers gain bonus Ability Power.

After the first ally Dragonslayer scores a takedown on an enemy with at least 1400 maximum Health, all allies gain additional Ability Power for the rest of the round.
Eternal*

Wolf separates from Lamb to become a second champion. Wolf does not count toward your unit cap, and receives all of Lamb's stat bonuses.

Forgotten Forgotten champions have bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power. Each Shadow item held by a Forgotten champion increases these bonuses by 10% on all Forgotten champions, stacking up to 4 times.
Hellion

Hellions gain Attack Speed.

Whenever a Hellion dies, a Doppelhellion of the same type (with one less star) will leap from the Hellion portal and join the fight!

Ironclad All allies gain Armor.
Nightbringer Nightbringers gain a shield for 8 seconds equal to a percent of their maximum Health the first time they drop below 50%. When this occurs, that Nightbringer gains bonus damage.
Redeemed Redeemed have increased Armor, Magic Resistance, and Ability Power. When they die, they pass this bonus split among remaining Redeemed allies.
Revenant Revenants revive after their first death each combat. Once revived, they take and deal 30% increased damage.
Verdant Champions that start combat adjacent to at least one Verdant ally are immune to crowd control for a duration.

Classes

Class Bonuses
Assassin

At the start of combat Assassins leap to the enemy backline.

Assassins’ abilities can critically strike and they gain bonus Critical Strike Chance and bonus Critical Strike Damage.

Brawler Brawlers gain additional maximum Health.
Caretaker Caretakers deploy with a Baby Dragon that can be placed anywhere on the battlefield. Baby Dragons gain 100% of their handler’s Attack Speed and restore 50 mana to their Caretaker upon death.
Cavalier

Cavaliers charge quickly towards their target whenever they move.
Cavaliers take reduced damage. At the start of combat and after charge, this effect is doubled for 4 seconds.

Cruel

Cruel champions are purchased with Little Legend Health instead of gold. They can be sold for gold but not Health. You're welcome.

Never underestimate the hunger of a Cruel champion in single combat.

God-King*

If you have exactly one God-King they deal 20% bonus damage to enemies who have at least one of their Rival Traits.

Garen's Rival Traits: Forgotten, Nightbringer, Coven, Hellion, Dragonslayer, Abomination, Revenant
Darius' Rival Traits: Redeemed, Dawnbringer, Verdant, Draconic, Ironclad

Invoker All allies gain extra Mana from their basic attacks.
Knight All allies block a flat amount of damage from all sources.
Legionnaire Legionnaires gain bonus attack speed, and their first attack after casting a spell heals them for 50% of the damage dealt.
Mystic All allies gain Magic Resist.
Ranger After 4 seconds, Rangers gain Attack Speed for 4 seconds. They regain this bonus every 4 seconds thereafter.
Renewer Renewers heal for a percent of their maximum Health each second. If they're full health, they restore mana instead.
Spellweaver Spellweavers have increased Ability Power and get bonus Ability Power any time a champion uses an ability, stacking up to 10 times.
Skirmisher

Skirmishers gain a shield at the start of combat, and gain Attack Damage each second.

* Some champions like Kindred, Darius, Garen and... Teemo (shudder) are unique amongst their fellows, with mechanics unlike anyone else in-game. Be sure to keep an eye out for these powerful champions and learn to wield their fearsome might!
