Teamfight Tactics - Ao Shin's Ascent Mode

When a mysterious mountain brings chaos to the Convergence, it’s up to you and Ao Shin to use both brain and (acquired) brawn to overcome any obstacle the Mountain throws your way.

Ao Shin’s Ascent, the new limited-time PVE mode, comes to Teamfight Tactics during Patches 15.5 and 15.6.

Ao Shin's Ascent Game Mode

Ao Shin's Ascent is a PVE progression-based game mode where you’ll summit the Mountain to free your Little Legend friends from a mysterious and shadowy force. The path to the top won’t be a straight one as you progress through increasingly difficulty Zones, each with its own challenges.

Each run consists of three total stages, giving you an opportunity to power up and prepare before facing the Boss. Starting at the Crest, Bosses are also equipped with at least 1 Modifier that dramatically impact your run. You select your Boss and Modifier(s) at round 1-2 in each run.

You’ll also select Celestial Challenges at certain rounds that buff the enemy board. Don’t worry, you’ll receive a gold payout for the trouble (gold output varies depending on which Celestial Challenge you choose)!

ModifierDetails

Starcursed

Certain hexes on the board become Starcursed, and any allied units that start combat on a Starcursed hex take continuous damage during combat.

Explosive

Enemy units explode on death, dealing magic damage to your units within a 1-hex radius.

Void

The enemy periodically places an immovable Void Egg on your board. Shortly after combat begins, voidlings hatch from the eggs that taunt nearby allies.

Physical

All damage dealt by enemy units becomes physical damage instead, and enemy units gain Damage Amp.

Fortified

The enemy team starts combat with increased Durability, which decreases over time.

Hellion

When an enemy unit dies, it spawns a 1-star less copy of itself.
CommittedOn rounds 1-2, 2-2, and 3-3, the enemy adds a permanent unit to your board that can't be benched or sold.
Restart
  • Only available in the Summit

After the first boss encounter, all units on your board are automatically sold for their total value.

ExtortionistRocks are placed that block your bench slots  You can remove a rock to reacquire a bench slot by selling it in the store; however, doing so costs Gold instead of earning it.
Subtractor
  • Only available in the Summit

The shop only displays four units for the rest of the game.

CheeringEnemy units heal every 2 seconds. When an enemy unit dies, it runs to the sideline and cheers on its allies. The amount of healing increases with each cheering ally.
Free Will
  • Only available in the Summit

You can't pick their Celestial Challenges or augments.

Guides

It’d be dangerous to go alone, so take a Guide! Guides are familiar champions that bring all new abilities to aid your ascent. Progress through your Journey Track to earn more Guides and upgrade your Guides’ abilities.

There are a total of 12 Guides for you to discover on your own, plus 2 more available in our Bundles.

  • Defeating a Boss
  • Winning a run (earn more Journey Track XP, the more Lives you have left over)
  • Achieving a Perfect Run (that is, clearing a run without losing any Lives)

Huh? You want more? No problem! In addition to the Journey Track XP you earn for in-game actions, Ao Shin's Ascent also has a Hard Fought bonus that grants you an XP multiplier based on your current progression and the Zones you've reached. In simple terms, you’ll receive this bonus for facing challenging runs. However, if you run through a Zone with a difficulty lower than your current progression, you won’t receive any bonus Journey Track XP.

Last but not least, there are special missions you can complete, regardless of the Zone you play in:
