Troubleshooting Keyboard/Mouse Issues

If your game isn’t responding to your keyboard or mouse the way it should, don’t worry—you’re not stuck in neutral. Let’s get those inputs firing again so you can get back in the fight.

Try a different peripheral

If possible, connect a different mouse or keyboard to see if the issue persists.

This helps confirm whether the original device might be defective.

Update your device drivers

Outdated or missing drivers can cause mouse or keyboard issues.

  1. Visit your device manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers for your model
  2. Restart your PC after installation

Perform a Clean Boot

Some background apps can interfere with how peripherals work in-game.

You can perform a Clean Boot to temporarily disable non-essential background services and identify if one of them is the cause.

Check in-game settings

  1. Launch the game
  2. Open Settings
  3. In Controls, double-check your key bindings

Reset your in-game configuration

Corrupted game config files can cause performance or input issues. Not sure how to do that? We got you!

League of Legends
  1. Make sure your Riot client and game is closed
  2. Press the Windows Key 🪟 to open the Windows Menu
  3. Type and open File Explorer
  4. In the search bar, copy paste the following:

    C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config

  5. Delete all files in the Config folder
  6. Open up the Riot client
  7. If a new files appear in the Config folder, delete them
  8. Log-in to League & delete the Config files again if they reappear
  9. Start a custom game and play for 5 minutes
  10. Before closing the game, reset everything to default:
    1. Open your Settings 
    2. Go to the Controls tab
    3. Click the Reset to game defaults button
  11. Close the game & log out of your account
  12. Test out your peripherals to see if the issue persists
VALORANT

⚠️ If you have set up any Agent Profiles, please delete them and set them up again after performing the steps below.

  1. Make sure your Riot client and game is closed
  2. Press the Windows Key 🪟 to open the Windows Menu
  3. Type and open File Explorer
  4. In the search bar, copy paste the following:

    C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\VALORANT\Saved\Config\

  5. Delete all files in the Config folder
  6. Open up the Riot client
  7. If a new files appear in the Config folder, delete them
  8. Log-in to VALORANT & delete the Config files again if they reappear
  9. Start a custom game and play for 5 minutes
  10. Before closing the game, reset everything to default:
    1. Open your Settings 
    2. Go to the Controls tab
    3. Click the Reset to game defaults button
  11. Close the game & log out of your account
  12. Start the game again

Update Windows

Input issues can sometimes be linked to outdated Windows versions, so let's ensure it's updated!
