Troubleshooting Game Crashes (Mobile)

Your game just crashed mid-match? Brutal. Whether it froze, kicked you out, or just decided to vibe on its own, don’t panic! These steps can help you get back into the action and stop your phone from pulling another surprise exit.

Force Close & Restart App 

  1. Open your phone’s Settings 
  2. Press Apps & notifications
  3. Tap the Riot Games product you are troubleshooting. If you don’t see it, tap See all apps 
  4. Press Force Stop

Close Background Apps

All apps that are running on your device use memory. If you can’t launch 
or play your game, it may not have enough memory available to run.

  1. Press the Recent Apps button
  2. Press the X or swipe away on an app’s preview to close the app

Update App

  1. Open the Google Play Store app 
  2. Press Menu
  3. Go to My apps & games 
  4. Apps with available updates are labeled as Update, tap this to update the app

Restart Phone

Try restarting your mobile device first, and if the error persists, perform a hard restart by turning your phone off completely and then turning it back on.

Reinstall Game

⚠  Any data saved in the app will be erased, if you have not upgraded to a Riot Account we will be unable to recover your account.

  1. Touch and hold the app that you want to uninstall
  2. Drag the app to uninstall at the top of the screen. If you don't see Uninstall, there should be an X at the app icon
  3. Restart your device 
  4. Re-downloading the game from your Google Play Store
