With Gizmos & Gadgets winding to a close, a new breed of creatures are descending on the Convergence: DRAGONS!
In Teamfight Tactics: Dragonlands, you'll be exploring the Dragonlands archipelago, where each island hosts different biomes, critters, dragons, and champions. Whether you find yourself in the myriad of oases that dot the Jade region, the lava scarred gorges of the Ragewing, or the elusive valleys where Shimmerstone grows from the ground in Shimmerscale, expect to find dragons each as different as their respective homes—with play styles to match!
A new set means new mechanics (and a few old ones!), traits, Little Legends, and more, so read on for all the juicy details. The dragons come home to roost from June 8th, 2022 at 11:00AM PST to September 7th, 2022 at 11:59PM local time.*
*Dates and times are subject to change. Always check the in-game schedule for the most accurate information.
Dragonlands Passes
As always, the best way to experience TFT's latest set is by leveling up your pass and earning rewards! Everyone gets the free Dragonlands Pass automatically on day one of the new set, and you can upgrade to the premium Dragonlands Pass+ for even more cool stuff whenever you want.
Take a look at the Pass+ Content section below to see some of the things you can unlock with the premium pass, or dig your claws into our Dragonlands Pass FAQ for more info on how the passes work!
Draconic Augments
Augments are sticking around for an encore! That's right—even powerful dragons recognize the power Augments can provide to their followers, so this exciting feature is returning for Dragonlands!
But why just bring Augments back when we can…augment Augments?!
- Augments now appear on stages 2-1, 3-2, and 4-2.
- You'll have one Augment reroll each game, allowing you to swap your current options with three new options at any of the above stages.
- Augments have been rebalanced to feel more equitable across the same tier.
- Our new augments are more dynamic, and you'll have to make big strategic choices if you want to make the most of them.
Of course, this is just the tip of the wing when it comes to all the adjustments we're making, so we encourage you to read our Dragonlands Set Mechanics Overview to get a deeper understanding of the changes we've made and why.
Treasure Dragon
Come forth, divine dragon, and grant our wishes!
Stage 4-7's raptors have been replaced with the generous Treasure Dragon, who will offer you a treasure trove of items and gold! But unlike the random drops of our bird-brained friends, this gift can be refreshed, allowing you to spend a few gold to get gear better suited to your current strategy.
HOWEVER! The Treasure Dragons offerings are an all-or-nothing affair. Choosing to Refresh will change ALL of the available items at the price of 1 gold, so don't go broke hunting for the perfect prize!
Origins and Classes
Our fearful flight of dragons are swooping in with brand new origins and a fresh mix of classes!
Whether you opt to feed the ravenous Nomsy with Trainer, play draconic statue chess with Jade, or turn your back on dragons altogether with the spiteful Scalescorn, Dragonlands has an adventure-filled path for you to walk! There's a hoard of new content to reveal, but we only have time for a brief look on this page, so check out our Dragonlands Gameplay Overview for a mountain of extra info, or our Dragonlands Trait Overview for a detailed infographic that includes champions and their costs!
Here there Be DRAGONS
If you haven't figured it out yet, Dragonlands is all about…well, dragons!
Dragons are unlike normal units in a few ways.
- Each dragon counts as two units in your army. They are massive mythical beasts, after all!
- But they also count triple for their trait bonus! A single dragon can be enough to push you up to your next trait breakpoint.
- They have double the cost of other units in their rarity tier. In addition to being huge, dragons are extra powerful and rare, and have a price to match.
- They have a bunch of extra health! Did we mention that they're HUGE?
- They're STRONG AS HECK, and possess abilities that can single-handedly change the tide of battle or steer your strategy.
We could drag on (yuk yuk) about these majestic creatures, but it'd be easier for you to either check out our Dragonlands Gameplay Overview for broad information or our Dragonlands Mechanic Overview for the deets!
Origins
Origin | Bonuses |
---|---|
Astral | Every 5th Shop has increased odds to show Astral champions, and also grants an Astral orb. Your team gains bonus Ability Power. |
Ragewing |
Converts Mana to Rage; attacks generate Rage. After casting an Ability, enrage for 4 seconds: Gain bonus Omnivamp and Attack Speed, but can't gain Rage. |
Whispers |
Whispers damage shrinks enemies, reducing their Armor and Magic Resist by 40% for 6 seconds. When they damage a shrunken enemy, Whispers gain stacking Attack Damage and Ability Power. |
Jade |
Summon movable Jade Statues that grow in power. Each combat, allies adjacent to a statue gain Attack Speed and maximum Health healing every 2 seconds. When a statue is destroyed, it deals 50% of its Health as magic damage to nearby enemies. |
Shimmerscale | Grant exclusive random Shimmerscale items that scale with gold. |
Mirage | Mirage units gain a different Trait bonus from game to game. Variations:
|
Trainer | Every round, each Trainer feeds 1 Snax to Nomsy, adding Health and Ability Power. Nomsy’s star level increases every 25 Snax! At Trainer (3), Nomsy's ability deals double the damage! |
Scalescorn | If you don't have a Dragon on your team, Scalescorn champions deal bonus magic damage and take reduced damage from enemies with more than 1700 Health. |
Revel | After dealing damage with an Ability, launch a firecracker that deals magic damage to a random enemy. |
Guild |
Grant a unique bonus to your team; Guild allies gain double the amount. Increases for each Guild member in play! Sejuani: +100 Health |
Tempest | After 9 seconds, lightning strikes the battlefield. Enemies are stunned for 2 seconds and take a percent of their maximum Health as true damage. Tempest champions gain Attack Speed. |
Dragon |
Dragons provide +3 to the marked trait, but require 2 team slots. They also gain 600 bonus Health. This trait is active with exactly 1 Dragon champion. |
Spell-Thief | Nab a new ability after each cast and at the start of every round. |
Starcaller | The first Starcaller to cast their Ability each combat heals your Tactician for (2/4/100), depending on their star level. |
Classes
Class | Bonuses |
---|---|
Swiftshot | Innate: Gain 2 hex Attack Range. Swiftshots gain Attack Speed for each hex between themselves and their target. |
Assassin | Innate: Leap to the enemy backline when combat starts. Assassins' Abilities can critically strike and they gain bonus Critical Strike Chance and bonus Critical Strike Damage. |
Bruiser | Your team gains bonus maximum Health. Bruisers gain double this bonus. |
Cannoneer | Every 5th attack fires a cannon shot that explodes for physical damage to enemies around the target. |
Guardian | Once per combat at 50% Health, Guardians shield themselves and their closest ally. Shields stack! |
Mage | Mages cast twice and have modified total Ability Power. |
Mystic | Your team gains Magic Resist. |
Evoker | Gain Mana whenever an ally or enemy casts an Ability. |
Shapeshifter | Transforming grants bonus maximum Health and heals for that amount. |
Warrior | Warrior attacks have a 25% chance to increase the damage of their next attack. |
Cavalier | Innate: Charge quickly towards their target whenever they move. Cavaliers gain Armor and Magic Resist. At the start of combat and after each charge, gain double the amount for 4 seconds. |
Dragonmancer | Use the Dragonmancer Blessing to choose a Hero. The Hero gains massively increased Health and Ability Power, which increases by 5% per star level of your Dragonmancers. |
Legend | Each combat: An adjacent ally bestows their spirit to the Legend, which gains 100% of their Health, Armor, and Magic Resistance, plus 40% of their Ability Power. |
Bard | Allies that survive player combat have a 20% chance to create a Doot. Bard always creates a Doot when dancing. Each Doot you collect increases your Shop odds by 1% for tiers 3, 4, and 5. |
Ranked Info
With a new set comes new changes for Ranked!
Ranked Reset
The time has finally come for our hard-won ranks to drop down, all so we can hard-win them all over again! Why, you ask? Well, we know that for a lot of you, climbing that ladder is the most exciting part of the game. We want to give everyone a fresh ranked experience with each new set, and a hard reset will allow for just that!
So, what does that mean for your rank from Neon Nights…?
Standard
If you climbed all the way to Master or above, you’ll start at Bronze 4. If you hit Diamond I, you’ll start your climb from Iron I. Everyone else is starting at Iron II.
Hyper Roll
So what about Hyper Roll? This one’s easy: Everyone, regardless of placement in the last set, is starting at Gray Tier (500).
Double Up!
Much like Hyper Roll, everyone is starting at the same place regardless of where they placed in the last set. For Double Up, everyone is starting at Iron II.
Ranked Rewards
You deserve something for not only making it through those long Neon Nights, but for conquering so many of them! Ranked players will be well-rewarded based on how far they climbed, and rewards for Neon Nights will be distributed throughout the release patch of Dragonlands, patch 12.11.
Now without further ado, let's take a look at what you'll get!
Standard
Placed Gold or higher in Neon Nights? Get ready to show off those various victories with an emote representing your rank!
If you placed Gold or higher during either Gizmos & Gadgets or Neon Nights, you'll also get a Victorious Tocker Little Legend to lead your team to even more wins. If you were Gold or higher during both halves of the set, you'll receive the terrific Triumphant Tocker Little Legend as well!
Hyper Roll
If your Hyper Roll wins led you to Green, Blue, Purple, or Hyper tier during those Neon Nights, you'll receive an emote based on your rank—featuring everyone's favorite feline, QiQi!
Double Up!
Teamwork makes the dream work—especially if that dream is claiming ranked rewards in Double Up! Those of you who reached Green, Blue, Purple, or Hyper tier can celebrate with an emote featuring bffs Chibi Jinx and Choncc.
Provisional Games
After the set kicks off, everybody who plays ranked will start with five provisional placement games. During those games, you won’t lose any LP for finishing in the bottom 4, and you’ll earn extra LP for placing in the top 4—or top 2 for Double Up.
Doubling Down on Double Up!
If you loved our latest lab, get ready to do a double take, because Double Up is getting an update!
First on the agenda: Double Up now uses the same metallic ranking system as standard TFT. So long colors, hello metallic tiers!
Of course, with higher stakes comes a stricter system! While you still can't be demoted out of a tier (ie you can't fall from Gold 4 to Silver 1), demotions between divisions no longer brake at 0 LP. So if you have 10 LP in Silver 2, then get hit with -20 LP for losing a match, you'll end up at 90 LP in Silver 3.
Still ready to pair up and throw down? GOOD.
Buuut you should probably know that Double Up matchmaking now uses the senior partner's rank when looking for opponents. So if you're a burgeoning Bronze paired with a magnificent Master, you'll likely face off against Master-level pairs (as opposed to something in the middle, like Platinum).
Finally, we're tweaking the amount of LP you gain or lose from a match in a number of ways:
- LP gains/losses are no longer necessarily the same for both members of a pair! If you're a Gold pairing with your Silver friend, you'll get the LP base for your respective tiers, so don't be afraid to queue up with friends of a different rank.
- Players at Platinum and under can get streak bonuses that start at 3 consecutive top-2 (your pair places 1st or 2nd) matches, which stops when you place bottom-2 in a match.
- You'll get more LP for finishing ahead of higher ranked players!
- Of course, that also means you'll have a lower LP score for finishing behind lower-ranked players. But don't worry—you'll NEVER lose LP when you place in the top-2!
That just about covers it for changes! If you're looking for more general information on this perfectly paired play sesh, check out our Double Up Overview!
